Story of Salvation
In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth….. Then he made the plants, fish, birds and animals. After that he made Man (Adam) and so man wouldn’t have to be alone He made woman (Eve). Adam and Eve lived in a beautiful garden (Garden of Eden) created by God for them. It was a wonderful place and God gave them plants and fruit trees for food. Everyday God would come to the garden to talk with them and He loved them. God gave them just one rule, he said do not eat from one tree or you will die (the Tree of Good and Evil). (Gen 2:16-17) One day when Eve was walking in the Garden a serpent came up to talk to her (it was the devil in disguise) and he tempted her to eat from that tree. The serpent lied to her and said it’s the best tree here and if you eat you won’t die. Eve believed the lie and ate from the tree and then gave some of the fruit to Adam who also ate. After they ate of the fruit they knew they had done wrong and were afraid so they hid. When God came to the garden later that day to see them he called out “Adam where are you?” (Now God already knew what had happened because he is God).Adam said I heard your voice in the garden so I hid because I was afraid. God asked why were you afraid did you eat from the tree that I said do not eat? Adam said yes and blamed Eve for giving him the fruit. Then God asked Eve and Eve said the serpent deceived me so I ate. Because of their sin (not obeying God) he told them they had to leave the garden he made for them. God put cherubim (heavenly beings) at the entrance of the garden so they could not return. That day their relationship with God died and ultimately their bodies would also die. God had told them the truth but they decided to not believe God. (Genesis Chapters 1-3)
But God loved man so much that he made a promise that he would make a way for those who would choose to could return to God.
So when the time was right God sent his own Son (Jesus) to pay the penalty of mankind’s sin and to make a way for us to again have a relationship with God.
"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." Mat 1:21
So God sent Jesus to show us and teach us how much God loved us.
At the end of his time here God allowed him to die on the cross. By his death on the cross he made a way for us to return to a relationship with God. Jesus took the punishment for our sin on himself so we could come before God clean. After his death (3 days later) God resurrected Jesus (brought him back to life). Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others to show them that he was alive again and spent many days with them after his resurrection. When Jesus time on earth was over he ascended back to heaven as his follows watched.
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. Mark 16:19
After he when up to heaven angels appeared to his follows and said to them
"Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven." Act 1:11
So it was promised that Jesus would return again.
Jesus also promised while he was here that he was going to make a place for us with him.
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father's house are many mansions (dwelling places); if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3
Jesus said to him, "I am the way , the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
So God made a way for mankind to again have a relationship with him and that when we die we can go to place God has created for us and be with him forever. A place where there will be no more death, fear or sadness.
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.
Rev 21:1 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Rev 21:4
All will be as God intended in the beginning
All we have to do to return to a relationship with God is believe in his Son Jesus.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: John 1:12
Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:27
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:9
